- Housing/enclosure design
- 3D Modelling, CAD/CAM services
- 3D printing
- Low Volume Manufacturing
ElectroDaves has worked on a wide range of projects over the years. However some of the highlights are...
Programmable Irrigation controller
This project was developed as a solution for water management and control in a large garden project. Due to low pressure and water flow, the client needed to direct the limited watering supply to only one or two zones at a time only to minimise pressure drop on the rest of the watering system. However due to the complex design of the garden, they wanted as many channels as possible, so watering only occurred at specific target areas.
To achieve this, we developed a custom built 16-channel watering system. The system utilizes a simple rotary encoder for user interface for controlling the system.
Further expansions included a RS-232 serial header, and many GPIO pins. Which can be used to add additional channels using slave boards, or to expand features such as wireless sensors for measuring soil moisture, temperatures/weather stations, or anything else the client dreams up.
A battery backup, and real time clock allowed precise timekeeping, even during a power failure. A onboard EEPROM allowed watering cycles to be retained.
Everything from the board design, software development, and commissioning of this unit was done in house by ElectroDaves!
Mitsubishi Rosa Door controller
Get Electronic had identified a need for replacement door controllers for Mitsubishi Rosa Fuso busses in industry. Many of the aging electronics in this design meant repair was difficult, costly, and time consuming. Supply of OEM replacements was difficult and sometimes impossible.
They wanted a drop-in replacement to be available, that replaced the original design. However wanted the board redesigned to minimise common failures.
We picked apart the design, and specified replacement components from the obsolete electronics, and created something that was fully serviceable and buildable using high quality electronics from reputable suppliers. Re-creating the entire board from the ground up!
This lead to the development of test platforms, to ensure controllers are performing to spec.
The client now has assess to a reliable supplier, of high quality boards, to solve a industry wide issue.
Tail-Light power conditioner
A local manufacture of aftermarket accessories was facing an issue where the supplier for a light fixture had changed their design, to an internal switching power supply. This resulted in unusual behaviour of the lights, as they would flicker and activate from low quiescent currents or "ghost voltages".
They needed a cheap fix, that would be small enough to integrate with their exiting housing. This unit would block any stray input voltages, and only activate when a stable and strong signal was applied.
Providing a cost affective, a minimalistic solution to their issues, so they could continue production of their aftermarket light fixtures.

Handling & Electronics Care
• ESD Protection: Always wear anti-static wrist straps or touch a grounded surface before handling circuit boards.
• Wiring Precautions: Ensure proper polarity (+VCC and GND) before applying power. Reverse polarity may damage sensitive semiconductors.
• Moisture & Environment: Store in dry, sealed anti-static bags. Keep away from direct moisture, liquid contact, and extreme thermal shock.
• Power Supply: Use regulated DC power sources within the specified voltage limits.
